Explorer
The Explorer module acts as an intelligence dashboard that provides a mechanism where Technology Intelligence, Company Intelligence, or a combination of both can be presented in an interactive manner. Key questions related to the project can be easily highlighted here along with their answers, which in turn can be supported with visual analytics based on technologies and/or companies. Users can also use this module to highlight any important information that they feel is relevant for the customer or the project. The Explorer module can be configured on Project Home as part of the summary for easy accessibility.
Access to Explorer Module
Explorer module can be accessed using the following actions:
- Hamburger menu
- In the menu, select the project from the Projects dropdown for which you want to access the Background module.
- Click on the Explorer module in the sub-menu of the project.
- Project Home : Refer to the Project home module on how the users can access the Explorer module.
Preview Explorer
You can add multiple sections to answer the key queries via text widgets, Technology tag chart widgets, Claim & Scope tag chart widgets, Product tag chart widgets, and organization tag chart widgets.
- Text Widget - The text widget can be used to add a detailed description, identify the query of client, answer that query, provide a heading/title for a chart or add other relevant information.
- Technology Tags Chart - Technical charts using technology tags can be added along with text widgets to answer questions supported by technologies. Users can view the profiles of the technology tag with a click on any of the nodes in the chart.
- Organization Tags Chart - Organization tag charts can also be added to answer questions supported by Companies or their categorization. Users can view the profiles of a company with a click on an element of the chart. Users can view more details about all the companies/assignees/affiliations in a particular organization tag chart by clicking on the loupe icon and then on the
View Company List
button.
Edit Explorer
Users can edit the page title, adjust the width of the widgets, rearrange the positions of sections and widgets, and delete sections and widgets in the Edit mode.
Edit Page Title
Use the steps provided below to edit the page title:
- Click on the
Edit Mode
button to switch to Edit mode. - Click on the edit icon of the title.
- Edit the title and click on the
Save
button to save the changes.
Add New Section
Users have the option to add two kinds of sections to the page:
- Blank Section
- Autogenerated Section
Add Blank Section
By adding a blank section, users have the option to configure it as per their needs by combining multiple text, Technology tag chart, Claim & Scope tag chart, Product tag chart, and Organization tag chart widgets in it.
Follow the steps provided below to add a blank section:
- Click on the
Edit Mode
button to switch to Edit mode. - Click on
Add section
button to add a new section.
Add Autogenerated Section
This feature allows users to generate sections and automatically add text widgets and chart widgets to them in order to generate technology, claim & scope, product, or organization tag chart.
Follow the steps provided below to add an autogenerated section:
- Click on the
Edit Mode
button to switch to Edit mode. - Click on the
Autogenerate section
dropdown and choose the option for which you want to create a chart. - Choose the tags to form the pop-up and click on the
Autogenerate section
button.
Add Widget to Section
To answer the key questions raised by the customer in the study, users can add multiple text widgets, technology, claim & scope, product, or organization tags charts to a section. Multiple sections with multiple widgets can also be added to dashboard.
Add Text Widget
Follow the steps provided below to add a text widget:
- Click on the
Edit Mode
button to switch to Edit mode. - Click on
Add widget
button dropdown on the section to which you want to add the text widget. - Click on
Add text widget
option in the dropdown and your widget will be added to the section. - All the changes are saved automatically.
Add Technology Tags Chart Widget
Select a technology tag on which you want to create the chart. You can also edit the selected tags, change the color of the chart, and can also change the direction of the chart. Hover over the technology tag chart to see the change chart color icon and change chart direction icon. To change the chart’s color or direction, click on the corresponding icon.
Color avaliable in the change chart color option will be from the default color palette selected in color palettes settings.
Follow the steps provided below to add the technology tag chart widget:
- Click on the
Edit Mode
button to switch to Edit mode. - Click on
Add widget
button dropdown on the section to which you want to add the technology tag chart widget. - Click on
Add technology tags chart widget
option in the dropdown and select the parent tag from the left pane of the pop-up window.- Select the children tags of the select parent tag on the right pane of the pop-up window by selecting the checkbox of the child tag.
- Click on
Add widget
button after selecting the tags and all the changes are saved automatically.
Add Organization Tag Chart Widget
Select the organization tags on which you want to create the chart. You can also edit the selected tags, and change the color of the chart. Hover over the organization tag chart to see the change chart color icon. To change the chart’s color, click on the change chart color icon. Colors avaliable in the change chart color option will be from the default color palette selected in color palettes settings.
Follow the steps provided below to add an organization tag chart widget:
- Click on the
Edit Mode
button to switch to Edit mode. - Click on
Add widget
button dropdown on the section to which you want to add the organization tag chart widget. - Click on
Add organization tag chart widget
option in the dropdown and select the tag from the left pane of the pop-up window.- Select the top values of the assignee of the selected tag on the right pane of the pop-up window or can select custom values of the assignee.
- Click on
Add widget
button after selecting the tags and all the changes are saved automatically.
Configure Widgets and Section
In edit mode users can configure the following:
- Rearranging the position of Widgets
- Rearranging the position of Sections
- Width of Widgets
- Drag and Drop Mode
Rearranging the position of Widgets
Follow the steps provided below to rearrange the position of the widgets:
- Click on the
Edit Mode
button to switch to Edit mode. - Hover your mouse over the widget to see the move widget icon.
- Click on the move widget icon to rearrange the widget and all the changes are saved automatically.
Rearranging the position of Sections
Follow the steps provided below to rearrange the position of sections:
- Click on the
Edit Mode
button to switch to Edit mode. - Click on the move section icon on the left-hand corner of the section to rearrange the section.
- All the changes are saved automatically.
Adjust Width of Widgets
Follow the steps provided below to adjust the width of widgets:
- Click on the
Edit Mode
button to switch to Edit mode. - Move your cursor over the right-hand border of the widget and the user can adjust the width by dragging the cursor.
- All the changes will be saved automatically.
Drag and Drop Mode
In the drag & drop mode, users cannot perform any editing actions such as editing tags or text, changing the color of the chart elements or changing the direction of the chart. They can rearrange or delete sections and/or widgets in the drag and drop mode.
- Click on the
Edit Mode
button to switch to Edit mode. - Click on
Enter drag & drop mode
button to enter the drag & drop mode. - Users can rearrange and delete sections and widgets.
- All the changes are saved automatically.
Delete Widget
Follow the steps provided below to delete the widget:
- Click on the
Edit Mode
button to switch to Edit mode. - Hover your mouse over the widget to see the delete icon.
- Click on the delete icon and click yes on the final prompt.
- All the changes are saved automatically.
Delete Section
Follow the steps provided below to delete a section:
- Click on the
Edit Mode
button to switch to Edit mode. - Click on the delete button and click yes on the final prompt.
- All the changes are saved automatically.
